Cutpeek

For the free Silhouette Studio

SVG to .studio3, for the free Silhouette Studio

Convert your SVG into a file the free Silhouette Studio can open, with its curves, sizes and colours. It happens in your browser.

Beta: not yet confirmed in Silhouette Studio

The files follow the layout of real Silhouette Studio 5 files and read back correctly in Cutpeek, but none has been opened in Silhouette Studio yet. Check the size on screen and cut a test on scrap first.

    Notes on this file

      What comes across

Cutpeek writes your shapes into a .studio3 file laid out like the ones Silhouette Studio 5 saves. It doesn’t change or unlock Silhouette Studio: the free edition simply opens a file in its own format.

      • ShapesPaths, rectangles, circles, ellipses, lines, polylines and polygons, in groups and with transforms.
      • SizesMillimetres, inches, points or pixels, read from the SVG; or set the width yourself.
      • Line coloursThe stroke colour becomes the Silhouette line colour, for cutting by colour.
      • Solid fillsKept as Silhouette fills, or dropped if you choose outlines only.
      • DXFLines, arcs, circles, ellipses and polylines, joined into outlines.
      • TextConvert text to outlines in your design program first; Cutpeek tells you when it finds some.
      • PicturesEmbedded pictures are left out: a cutter needs outlines.
      • GradientsGradient and pattern fills are dropped; the outline stays.
      • Wider than 12 inSilhouette mats are 304.8 mm wide; scale or turn bigger designs first.
      • Confirmed in SilhouetteNot yet: no converted file has been opened in Silhouette Studio. Beta.
