Notes on this file
What comes across, and what doesn’t
Cutpeek reads the outlines Silhouette Studio stores and writes them out unchanged. Where a file holds something it can’t convert, it tells you instead of quietly dropping it.
- Cut linesEvery outline, with the exact curves Silhouette stored.
- SizesPage size and design size in millimetres and inches.
- ColoursLine colours and solid fills from Studio 5 files.
- LayersLayer names, with shapes grouped by layer.
- TextLetters come across as cuttable outlines.
- PicturesPrint-and-cut pictures are left out, and the notes say so.
- Line stylesLine thickness and dashes aren’t read yet.
- EffectsPuncher, emboss and offset results aren’t stored in the file.
- Older filesThe older “silhouette04” format isn’t supported yet.
- Protected filesEncrypted files, such as some Design Store downloads, are refused.
Three steps, no upload
- 1
Open
Choose or drop a .studio3 file. Your browser reads it from your disk; it is never sent anywhere.
- 2
Check
See every cut line on a mat grid at true scale, with the page size, object count and layers.
- 3
Save
Download an SVG in the style your software wants, a PDF to print at true size, or a DXF with the unlock.
Brother ScanNCut files too
Cutpeek also opens CanvasWorkspace and ScanNCut .fcm files: see the cut and pen lines at true size and save them as SVG or PDF, free. Drop an .fcm file on the mat above, or use the FCM file viewer.
- Convert .fcm to SVGOpen a ScanNCut or CanvasWorkspace file here and download an SVG with the same curves and sizes. It is free and nothing is uploaded.
- What is an .fcm file? The cut file of Brother’s ScanNCut machines. What it holds, what opens it, and how to look inside one without Brother’s software.
- Open an .fcm file without CanvasWorkspaceLook inside a ScanNCut file on any computer, with no install and no Brother account. The file stays on your computer.

DXF export and batch conversion
Viewing, SVG and PDF export are free. For people who convert a lot, or cut with lasers and CAD, a single payment adds:
- DXF export in millimetres or inches, one DXF layer per Silhouette layer, for laser, CAD and older cutters.
- Batch conversion: choose many .studio3 or .fcm files and download one ZIP of SVGs or DXFs. A file that can't be read is listed with the reason; the rest still convert.
- No account, no subscription. Files still never leave your computer.
Print-and-cut registration marks aren't included: Cutpeek can't yet read where Silhouette stores them, so it won't pretend to.
Coming soon
It isn't on sale yet, so there is nothing to pay today. SVG and PDF export work now, free.
Payment is handled by Stripe. You come back here and it unlocks in this browser.
